@Minafirenze @EzechimeOf82947 First you people denied your igboness. Second, you are truly not igbo if you are waiting for people to confirm it to you before you are sure.

@EzechimeOf82947 Delta Igbo does exist…I went to school in the east years ago and many times I was told we are not real Igbo. All of a sudden now we are? Make it make sense!

Delta Igbo is not a tribal or ethnic identity but a divide and rule identity. Igbo is Igbo. Period.

So the developers stole what they called igbo language just like they are stealing gele and food all over the place. The union igbo was developed by the missionary just like a computer programmer develops a programming language. And then the osu people makes it theirs.

For those criticising her because of her first name, I'll Explain for the genuine ones to understand. Her father's name is Ehianugor, that's a unique Ika name. Her First name is Anita, being an English speaking country, we adopt western names Her middle name is Nkechi, it shows she's a Christian. Nkechi means God's own/ the one from God. More popular examples are; Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, prince Nduka Obaigbena, Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor (L.E.O. Irabor), Patrick Okedinachi Utomi (Pat Utomi) The union igbo which is what developed into central Igbo is a gift from Missionaries to Minority tribes in SE and some parts of SS. "Presently spoken Igbo language is a gift from Missionaries" No one should ordinarily lay claims to it, but some people's mother tongues have completely eroded and have no more heritage so they cling to it as their heritage. Tribes in Ebonyi state, Enugu state and Abia state who still have a variant of their mother tongues (though heavily diluted by consistent exposure to the new language) are usually seen as less civilised, this makes other tribes hastily lose their mother tongues. These mother tongues are not mutually intelligible with the igbo language (hence it can't be classified as a dialect of igbo) A big shout out to the 'Ndi Abakaliki', 'Ndi Ngwa', 'Ndi Nsukka' etc for gripping onto your heritage, against the odds.

Your argument rest on mutual intelligibility. Ngwa, mbaise, nsuka, Eddah, Ika, Ndokwa etc are all mutually ineligible. From your standpoint, doesn't that make them Igbo? A dialect is not a language. Mother tongue is a dialect. And mutual intelligibility make them a language

@oshimili_atata @chiukwujioke Chukwu is a combination of chi ukwu. Meaning big God. Ndi Igbo have olilo udaume. In English as vowel assimilation where vowels swallow the next one. E.g: Ọha na eze = Ọhaneze Chi na-eke = chineke Chi ukwu = chukwu People can choose to follow the rules or not. Eg: Nnaemeka

@Nma_Best We agree with you. Ika is Ika and never igbo. Nma is good in Igbo. You have to cut ties with us completely. Leave the igbo language and culture. Being Ika and speaking Igbo is culture theft and appropriation. We are not recruiting. The war ended 56 years ago.

@Odogwu_szn_ @KlierYinth66454 Igbo is fundamentally cosmopolitan and egalitarian. We support free will even from denying the igbo identity. But that also means you must drop any form of igboness and cut ties. Doing otherwise is theft and appropriation. The was ended 56 years ago, we are not recruiting.

Let's be clear. Igbos are not recruiting. The war is OVER. 56 years ago You CANNOT appropriate Igbo names and culture while rejecting Igbo. It is called theft. We support your desire for a different identity, but you must COMPLETELY disassociate yourself from the Igbo identity

@feji_boy The Kanem-Borno Empire (9th -19th century) in pre-colonial Northern Nigeria spanned approximately 776,996 km². In the image below, the red outline was Kanem-Borno Empire. It took the joint forces of both the British and French colonialists, a century to divide and conquer it.

Igwe of Enugu
Igwe of Enugu@Richie_Ehdu·
Nri emerged in the 9th-10th centuries as a theocratic priest-kingdom with ritual influence over parts of Igboland, not a vast centralised empire. Igbo presence and culture in SE Nigeria long predate it. There are archaeological sites like Ugwuele, Nsukka, Afikpo, and Lejja iron smelting, which show human activity and early technology from thousands of years ago. Nri was influential in religion, Ozo titles & taboos for northern/western Igbo subgroups, not the singular origin for all Igbos (many trace to Aro, Autochthonous villages, or other migrations). And according to most researches, they stated that Nri were not originally Igbo but recent immigrants from lgala kingdom of Idah who arrived in the early 16th century and that the Nri origin myth is factually and historically invalid. If you buy the bullcrap of Nri being the Origin of Igboland, then you're more likely to buy the bullcrap of Oduduwa falling from the sky and Fulani forming from cow milk.
