Our vision as Government is to leverage ICTs to spur economic transformation & improve people’s lives. Technology per se will be of no or little consequence if it doesn’t translate into a better quality of life for our people. #SDT2023

Innovation doesn’t begin with flashy technology or trendy solutions. It begins with understanding real human problems worth solving. The strongest ideas are built from real user pain points, frustrations, and everyday experiences. That’s where meaningful innovation starts. Courtesy: tobydykes.medium.com/innovation-sho…

Today, I hosted Alan Kasujja, the newly appointed Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre, he came around with his team from the Centre. I emphasized that Uganda must be known not only for its natural beauty, but for the quality, competence, and character of its people. Ugandans abroad and at home are powerful ambassadors whose excellence reflects directly on our country and strengthens our global standing. I underscored the central role of effective communication in national development, ensuring that citizens understand government programs, opportunities, and how to benefit from them. Without this, many remain unaware and unable to improve their livelihoods. I also called for communication that promotes unity, mutual respect, and constructive dialogue, reminding that Uganda is big enough for all of us. A united population is key to achieving meaningful social and economic transformation. We look forward to working together to build a stronger, more informed, and cohesive nation. @Kasujja | @UgandaMediaCent

Over the past three days, I attended #ConnectedAfricaSummit2026 in Nairobi, held under the theme “Uniting Africa’s Innovation for an Inclusive Digital Market.” The Summit brought together key stakeholders to advance discussions on Africa’s digital future. As part of the engagements, we conducted technical visits to key innovation and infrastructure facilities, gaining insights into the technologies driving Africa’s digital transformation. I also Chaired the Senior Officials meeting of the ICT Infrastructure Development Cluster of the Northern Corridor Infrastructure Project (NCIP) ICT to review the progress made towards the establishment of a regional communication satellite. We aligned positions with the partner states (Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan and Uganda) ahead of the Inter-Ministerial meeting that approved the resolutions.
