Saw this posted on LinkedIn as a leader’s recommended reading list (or something along those lines). Once again I am begging of you, please read more fiction. I promise that it will do more for you vs another productivity optimization book.

If i was to build such interface in 2023 tech but for web. How do you do it? React + framer-motion? Or are there some SwiftUI inspired JS libs? Anything that doesn't need a compiler like Svelte?

@TaliaRinger I'm a programmer and I still struggle a lot with common boolean expressions like (a && b) || c I just need them written out as a table otherwise my code will have gaps :( Told my colleague I have dysboolea :D

Terry Tao and I spoke over coffee for like two hours yesterday, in part about diversity in how people think about math. We both agreed that people who hit these walls early mostly don't learn the way of thinking about math that works for them. It's an educational failure
Charles Murray@charlesmurray

I would have thought this was completely uncontroversial. All except a few geniuses who persist in taking math courses reach a point when they say to themselves "I can't understand this no matter how hard I try." Some people reach it in sixth grade; others in high school; others in college. But isn't hitting the wall a nearly universal experience?

@zuolot @yacineMTB This stuff excited me because I’m a strong believer in local, privacy-first and personalised AI, and this research makes inference cheaper and more effective. Super interesting stuff!

@zuolot @yacineMTB Still, I found it to work incredibly well with the steering vector +”python” -“ruby”, ask a question and it’ll respond with code. Given how these vectors work, it might even be possible to apply multiple steering vectors at once

@abhi_agarwal4 @mezaoptimizer In lex Fridman’s Sam altman interview Sam said that the difference between gpt-3 and gpt-4 was mostly just a couple of tricks. It sounds like it’s just a couple months of various commits “improve abc performance in xyz situation” made by a team of clever people

@mezaoptimizer What’s the greatest innovation with GPT-4? Apart from the sheer volume of training data, of course.

Over two-thirds of the weights in GPT-4 are just MLP layers. Which is to say, our most powerful AI model is literally just a 1950’s-style vanilla feedfoward neural network plus a tad bit of information shuffling between sequence positions

@ByrneHobart “Hey uhm.. Denise, I haven’t heard anything from Dave for a while.” “Oh… It’s a sad story, he’s a void patient. He’s in the abyss for rehab, we’re not sure he’s going to be ok...” “:(“

It probably goes without saying, but definitely avoid looking at generative AI porn with a device that has those features.

I decided to outsource my entire personal financial life to GPT-4 (via the @donotpay chat we are building). I gave AutoGPT access to my bank, financial statements, credit report, and email. Here’s how it’s going so far (+$217.85) and the strange ways it’s saving money. (1/n):
