My theory in regards to that is, you can raise the technical quality/"fidelity" without actually making tasteful creative choices. Obviously there are good, "soulful" movies that have been made in the digital era, they're just rarer. If people only use stuff like AI purely to expedite finishing the project without caring about the specific creative decisions involved, they probably would do the same even without these kind of shortcuts.

I think there is something to that arguement, and that movies for example have less and less as they’ve moved away from human input. You take a movie with foley style sound design vs digital sound design it’s not the same at all Do think AI generation can have soul but probably takes a special person
