My manager is Canadian. He’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever worked with. When I led my team to deliver a critical project, he praised me and my team so much that it kept me going. I’m not used to receiving much praise at work. I never have to ask for leave, but I still do. I’m very comfortable discussing any problems with him. He is technical and extremely approachable, and that helps too. Managers like this, you can go to war with.
