@TheEVuniverse Cybertruck isn’t allowed on UK roads as it doesn’t meet the safety regulations so I’d guess that this will Be the same situation?

Chatting to my neighbour today. I was gobsmacked when he said they’d been paying £270pcm for their gas and electricity bills. For 8 months of the year we’re completely protected from spiralling petrol/diesel/gas/electric costs by producing our own energy and storing it in a battery. For the other 4 months of the year the battery allows us to power shift, utilising very cheap off-peak energy. Based on the average mpg of a diesel (43mpg) and the current £1.60 per litre, this equates to cost of 16p per mile. This means that each kWh we produce (EV average of 4 miles per kWh) is worth around 64p when we put it directly in to our EV as we are doing today and will continue to do throughout the year. If you can, do it. It will save you.

Yes the process of applying for the export license takes a long while, the company that installed the batteries apply for that on completion still waiting hopefully soon! at least in time for the Solar being fitted. To maximise the amount of panels I can have I’m actually removing a skylight and also one chimney stack that no longer used.👍🏼

@b280c_2 @KateFantom What I learnt from having Solar installed. Apply for your export license immediately. I had 17 panels installed, should have got the max I could have had. Should have got 10kw of batteries and not the 5kw I did get. There are two types of licence. One restricts you to 3.6kwh expo

I’ve been reading a lot of post about oil prices…. Incredible increase from one months to the next. Just so glad I’m not on it for a number of reasons.. we had a small leak that went undetected for a while…obviously noticed the excessive oil use in the end and dealt with it. However the ground was contaminated and anything growing near the tank died.. just awful stuff. Sounds daft but even though it’s costing me more I feel I have a clearer conscience, I have been planning battery and solar for quite a while, before the boiler actually. dibbed into the pension to fund it, well worth the investment imo. Will retire in this house so makes sense to me. I may consider a heat pump later down the line aswell but need to see how the battery and solar perform and also the buy back benifits. I think it’ll be a third PW3 once the solar is in…. It’s a huge benifit.

See the word privilege used in quite a few of the replies. The guy is retired, more than likely worked all His life and paid into pensions and savings, planned ahead for his retirement and used those funds and re invested in his solar, batteries and EV. Why? Because it’s smart, he’s now retired and has minimal expenditure on running cost for his home and transport. Seems well thought out imo. Infact im doing exactly the same… been planning and researching battery and solar for 10 yrs or so waiting for the right time so I now have drawn down some pension funds for a battery and solar installation. However, with the current war going on and many people struggling with fuel costs it does come accross a touch smug, and privileged. not everyone is in that fortunate position in life to have disposable funds for these kind of renewable installs.

Together with RDW, we have officially completed the final vehicle testing phase for Full Self-Driving (Supervised) and have submitted all documentation required for the UN R-171 approval + Article 39 exemptions. The RDW team is now reviewing the documentation and test results package internally. They have communicated the expected approval for Netherlands date of 4/10, shifting from 3/20 previously and we look forward to successful completion of this cooperation.  Following the Netherlands’ approval, European countries will be able to recognize this approval nationally. We are anticipating a possible EU-wide approval during the summer. Over the past 18 months, this approval has involved a series of intense documentation, development, testing, research & audits. Including but certainly not limited to: – 1,600,000+ km of FSD (Supervised) testing on EU roads – 13,000+ customer sales ride-alongs – 4,500+ track test scenario executions – Thousands of pages of written documentation for 400+ compliance requirements – Dozens of research studies into safety performance/results We're extremely proud of the work conducted with the RDW team up until this point. We very much look forward to the approval in April, and sharing FSD (Supervised) with our patient EU customers!

I hate when people say @SpaceX is simply handed government contracts. No, SpaceX earns those contracts. They offer the lowest price, the best product and they execute. The Pentagon said last year that SpaceX has saved the government over $40 billion. One SLS launch costs billions, while one SpaceX launch costs ~$75M. SpaceX is an example of great American innovation, something that all Americans should cheer on.

@graeme_cobb Tesla Gen 3 is compatible, I have one at home. Well priced imo and look sleek and modern. The Tesla app is easy to use with the charger for setting charge times, usage etc.

Just want to moan and say simple summon feature to move my @Tesla Model X on HW3 forward or backwards NEVER WORKS!! Why? When I first got it in 2017 on HW 2 it worked every time… since it’s been “upgraded” to HW3 it’s useless. Why? I don’t use it often but when the time arises when I do it is really infuriating when it constantly fails… 😣
