As they were rushing her to the operating room, one of the doctors turned to her boyfriend and asked, “Are you okay with this? She won’t be able to have children after a hysterectomy.” She was awake enough to hear it. And even then, the focus in that moment wasn’t her life being at risk... it was what she would lose after they saved it.
