So important for Gr K & 1 kids to subitize numbers to 100. Start with ten frames, then progress to Base 10 blocks and discs. Kids should not be using their fingers to count. Why? There are far better ways to develop Base 10 thinking, important grouping skills, and number sense!

Grandmother-in-chief, Mrs. Marian Robinson, the Matriarch of the Obama Family, has passed away. Her legacy is more than just the Mother of Michelle Obama. She became a symbol of grace and hope for the country. The Obamas said in a joint statement,” My mom, Marian Robinson, was my rock, always there for whatever I needed. She was the same steady backstop for our entire family, and we are heartbroken to share she passed away today.” In 2020, Mrs. Marian Robinson wrote an op-ed for ESSENCE about her time in the White House, “ You see, my job here is the easiest one of all: I just get to be Grandma. One of my biggest blessings is getting to see my granddaughters grow up before my eyes. I go to all their school plays and sports games; I’ll answer their questions, and like any grandparent, I try to make myself scarce when their friends are around.” We are sending our heartfelt condolences to the Obama Family.
