Coming into #CBAForAfrica26, I thought I was just here to network because I already worked in the music industry and felt I knew enough.
But CBA opened my eyes in ways I didn’t expect. It made me realize there was still so much I didn’t know,

There are days at CBA where I sit in class or on calls and feel like I somehow slipped in by mistake, like everyone else understands things faster, speaks more confidently, or just fits better. That quiet voice of imposter syndrome can get really loud in those moments.

nearly 4months in and I've had to unlearn almost everything I thought I knew.
when I joined #CBAForAfrica26, I came in with beliefs I was confident in and few months later, I've had to strip them down to rebuild my foundation this time with sharper insights and a clearer lens.

4 months in and one major lesson learned from this programme is the importance of legal protection as a creative.
Understanding contracts and having proper structure can save artists and creatives from long-term career damage.

Over the past 4 months at Creative Business Academy (CBA) for Africa @cbaforafrica, my understanding of the music industry has expanded far beyond what I expected. A few key lessons that really stayed with me:

one word to describe @cbaforafrica for me? eye-opening.
i’ve always been drawn to the creative industry, but CBA made me realize that music especially the recording industry isn’t just about the art.
and like @GodwinTom says, “always keep showing up”

One thing the @cbaforafrica Academy has taught me is that the music industry is far deeper than just “making music.” Behind every hit record are IPs, Ownership, Structure, etc. African music is no longer just culture. It’s a serious economic asset.

I've always been fascinated by how the recording industry works in Nigeria. @cbaforafrica has helped me understand it to a great extent. #cbaforafrica26 is far from just theoretical knowledge. You actually get to work on projects with a team to fully understand how it works! #AMG

Almost missed being part of the #CBAForAfrica26 cohort, but I’m genuinely glad I didn’t.
4 months in already and it has really been an interesting journey ngl😅. One thing the program has really changed for me is how I look at the business beyond just the creative side.
