History doesn’t repeat itself. It reincarnates. Scene at home right now: One tiny human. One plate of food. Thirty minutes. Exactly two morsels eaten. And negotiations are underway. “It's spicy. I need jaggery.” Now this is not a request. This is a diplomatic summit. Because if I say yes, she will eat ONLY jaggery. If I say no, she will eat NOTHING. If I insist, tears. If I ignore, silent protest. If I lovingly explain, counter-arguments. If I scold, emotional damage (mostly mine). So far my parenting strategy has included: ✅ scolding ✅ begging ✅ emotional appeal ✅ logical reasoning ✅ fake indifference ✅ excessive affection ✅ silent staring at the wall questioning life choices Meanwhile, madam is calmly sitting like a seasoned negotiator, fully aware that time is on her side and my patience is not. Somewhere above, Aaji must be nodding knowingly, “Now you understand.” Parenting lesson of the day: You don’t raise children. You complete karmic cycles… one reluctant morsel at a time. Send help.
