@jefftiny99 @PhoenixrisingJC @martynziegler Didnt have anything to do with them beating you but still consciously cheating. Sounds familiar! Not trying to justify anything Saints did but its been blown way out of proportion.

@babarussi @PhoenixrisingJC @martynziegler Actually to be fair I think you were obviously talking about Hull, so I apologize. I believe so but that had nothing to do with Hull beating us. They were the better team on the day. Good luck to them.

@PhoenixrisingJC @martynziegler You really wanna go there cheater boy! We finished third, above you. Despite all your parachute money. Took four points off you as well. Hull beat us fair and square and deserved it. And guess what! They didn’t cheat. Idiot.

@martincole1 @robbojv @GraemeBandeira @Puel_Out Very much this, Saints should be punished, but Boro fans need to stop pretending they care about sporting integrity, just want another bite at the cherry and sour b/c they lost. Stupid and poor from Saints, but kicking them out is ridiculous, worse punishment than FFP Breach.

@robbojv @GraemeBandeira @Puel_Out Let the EFL deal with it then, the facts are it had no bearing on the club bottling promotion which was down to Gibson just like the last 20 years of failure and now he is using a clown in a bush to cover up his failings……Embarrassing

This has all been very convenient for Gibson and Hellberg. Completely distracting from their complete bottling of automatic promotion and then bottling the play offs. There should have been serious questions asked, but they’ve played a PR blinder and Boro fans falling for it 😂

If Middlesbrough felt so strong that spygate affected Saturday game, why didnt they request the EFL for postponement or cancellation until investigation was complete. They bottled top 2 by losing to relegation fodder and now thinks its given right to be in final. #saintsfc

@smoggyparmo 😂😂 Not that its relevant to the cheating, but you were better as a result, couldnt handle you in the first half. If you could finish your dinner yiu would have been out of sight!

1/ Days before the semi-final Southampton were caught spying on Boro training. Had they not been caught, Boro would have continued oblivious. But once they were caught, Hellberg had to change setup the day before the game. Boro then played a shape they’d never used before...

@Dabs06721990971 @hasfabulous Southampton’s playbook seems to be cheat, continue cheating, cheat a little more, get caught, pretend it’s everyone else’s fault and attempt to gaslight everyone that actually nothing bad happened at all. It would be so good for the game to see cheaters dealt with very harshly.

@bensfc4 Either way, difficult to prove unless there is a paper trail, and doubt they'd be stupid enough to leave one straight to TE. Wouldn't surprise me if they were though 🙈🙈

@JYaj Actually, it was "We'll spy when we want." Do you really think Boro would be being so aggressive if they thought this was going their way?

@LeeHall1977 Precedent has also been set by prior points deductions issued this season. Can't do it now, its too late, they try and boot them from the playoffs there will be a big court case coming the EFLs way. If they dont get booted, probably a case coming Southamptons way from Boro

A 6 point deduction (if/when they next play in Championship) and a fine the fraction of the prize money if they go up. For knowingly cheating? Hardly a deterrent moving forward is it? #utb #boro

🚨🤓 Southampton Spygate personal view: 1. Expect the breaches will be straightforward to establish (ie liability) and almost certainly admitted to try and get some sanction credit/discount 2. Expect aggravating factors such as other examples of Soton spying this year to be raised 3. Fundamental question of how serious a breach of rule 127 and good faith is will be key. We know good faith alone was £200k in the Leeds case. The new rule makes it worse and spying obviously seeks a sporting advantage - why else do it? So that does point to sporting sanction of some sort 4. Being thrown out of the Play Offs appears excessive especially given Southampton finished 7 points clear of 6th and 9 clear of 7th 5. A 3-0 in the first leg would have been an option again excessive retrospectively unless 2nd leg re-playable (not feasible) 6. More likely sanction is points deduction next season in the Championship as much as that won't help Middlesboro 7. Unlikely that the PL will take a points deduction recommendation from the EFL (no fixed rule) - doubt EFL will push for it, so would apply in first season back in Championship (when and if) 8. My best guess is SIX EFL points in first season in EFL and £500k-£1m fine 9. Boro compensation claim can be dealt with separately subject to any claim brought by Boro - difficult claim to establish due to causation issues

@henrywinter Southampton allegedly breached EFL rules by repeatedly spying on EFL teams training 72hrs before games for a £200m financial gain If proven beyond reasonable doubt, expulsion from the Championship is the only sanction that is fair, proportionate and protects the integrity of EFL

@domh73 @slbsn When breaching FFP is a handful of points, cheating across a whole season (or several in Leicesters case) trying to push for 12pts is wild.

@slbsn Sensible view, however, I think point 2, if proven, coujd / should significantly impact the sanction administered, & point 8, sadly I think you’re right but it’s hardly a punishment, the fine is pocket change if they get promoted and point deduction should be at least 12.

@UKjamxtian @boro_alex2 😂😂😂😂😂 So youre saying this is worse than Leicester/WBA who knowingly cheated FFP rules? In the worst case, they've gained a little bit of extra knowledge against 90% of teams that we should have been beating anyway. It's not that deep pal. Give your head a wobble 😂😂

@boro_alex2 If it’s systemic then the harshest possible punishment needs to happen. Not just sporting sanctions but financial too. As well as compensation to every club and even more so to Middlesbrough. Not only that, but our fans need full refunds of season tickets etc.
