Political violence like this assassination attempt is always unacceptable and must be condemned outright, full stop. But attributing it to “Iranian Muslims” based on a protester’s scarf is irresponsible and factually wrong. It distracts from real security issues and the actual suspect’s background. We should demand evidence-based analysis, not narrative-driven assumptions, especially on a serious national security incident hours after it happened.

The assassination attempt on Donald Trump is likely motivated or carried out by Iranian Muslims. During the shooting, while Trump was trying to leave the premises, this lone protester appeared from nowhere to interrupt the motorcade. And she was wearing a Keffiyeh, a typical Muslim attire.
