Already feeling cold just waiting on the platform at EXD for the train to OKE. Glad I decided to go for the full winter kit for this trip

Heading out for what will possibly be the last trip of the year.

This was a tough choice! But going with my heart it has to be Rainham to Purfleet 🩶 Hamsey Green to Coulsdon South is beautiful, and I assume it’s going to deservedly win. But there’s something about those bleak, marshy Thames edgelands that gets in my bones 🦴 #LondonLoop

@aroundthehills @normakeohane @akkw1803 It was Loughrigg and the edge of Rydal Water just below that made me pretty sure it was Nab Scar.

@deedeelea I so nearly went out to that area to do a bit of North Downs Way today, and was even considering doing it from Gravesend.

@backpackartist Thanks 😊 I did the first section from Gravesend to Sole Street a couple of weeks ago and a random short one today because I didn’t have loads of time and a lot of transport was messed up.

I think to get the #Countryway done I might need to do the sections in non sequential order… that way I can pick a section depending on the amount of time/transport situ on the day as some are much longer and harder to get to than others. That’s how I did the #LondonLoop but

@deedeelea Sometimes you just have to weigh up getting a trail done vs doing it the "proper" way which may take so long you never actually do it. Feel free to give me a shout when you do the start or end section

@backpackartist I think it’ll take me years and years if I do it in order 🤔 🩴

@deedeelea I did the LOOP in consecutive sections, but it did mean it took longer - largely because I put off doing the ones that involved most travel (ie in the west). I'd probably still do the Countryway in order though - it just feels right. Plus I live near the start/end

It’s a bit like the concept of flip flopping in US long distance hiking 🩴 yes day hiking around London is very similar to section hiking the PCT 💁‍♀️ 😂 🥾

@Former_Monkey Bear in mind he doesn't have a backbone or anything between the ears so that will save some weight.
