Last yr, for the 400th anniversary of the death of William Byrd, I asked @kieran_brunt to write new music inspired by Byrd. The result was his glorious Facta est deserta... and then he only went and wrote a whole album in tribute to Byrd - out this month shardsvoices.bandcamp.com/album/byrd-song

So pleased with this production ☺️ massive shout-out to composer @alexjosephmills whose beautiful interludes for Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater helped us to explore, express, and emphasise the text’s universal and moving themes, most importantly: compassion for others 🙏
