#AMR is not tomorrow’s problem – it’s a challenge we face today. Building on the momentum of the 2024 United Nations General Assembly High-level Meeting on #AMR, we urge all stakeholders, including governments, civil society, healthcare providers, veterinarians, farmers, and the public, to turn political commitments into tangible, accountable, life-saving actions. How is @BactiVac supporting LMIC researchers? 🌱Building capacity where it matters most. LMICs often face the highest burden of bacterial infections and #AMR. Through our catalyst funding and training awards, @BactiVac empowers researchers in these regions to lead #vaccine innovation and strengthen capacity within their organisations, foster new collaborations, and generate the data needed to de-risk projects in order to accelerate vaccine development Reducing #AMR starts with equitable research opportunities. #WAAW #AMR #VaccinesWork #GlobalHealth @wellcometrust @The_MRC @UKgovGHS @britsocimm @MicrobioSoc @UoBinfectionsch

Why are vaccines important in the fight against #AMR? 💉Vaccines = Fewer infections = Less antibiotic use. Preventing bacterial infections through vaccination is a proven strategy to #reduce antibiotic consumption and slow the spread of resistance. @BactiVac supports researchers worldwide to develop #vaccines targeting high-burden bacterial pathogen - helping protect communities and preserve life-saving antibiotics. 🔊Listen to @BactiVac Director @AFC_immuno contributing an audio interview to @HST_biosci Henry Stewart Talks:👉bit.ly/ACHStalk. #WAAW #AMR #VaccinesWork #GlobalHealth @wellcometrust @The_MRC @UKgovGHS @britsocimm @MicrobioSoc @UoBinfectionsch

Why does #AMR matter? 🌍 Antimicrobial resistance (#AMR) is one of the greatest global health threats of our time. Every year, millions of lives are at risk because antibiotics are losing their effectiveness. At @BactiVac, we believe #vaccines are a powerful tool to prevent bacterial infections early, reducing antibiotic use and supporting responsible antimicrobial stewardship. Join us this #AMRAwarenessWeek as we share how our Network is driving innovation in bacterial vaccines to combat AMR. “Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future.” #WAAW #AMR #VaccinesWork #GlobalHealth @wellcometrust @The_MRC @UKgovGHS @britsocimm @MicrobioSoc @UoBinfectionsch
