Admitting you’re using a player to keep an investor from realizing you’re insolvent is a terrible look. Calling it a “strategic favor for the Clippers” makes it sound calculated — almost like a power move instead of damage control.

🚨 In a new court filing (below), Clippers owner Steve Ballmer dismisses @pablofindsout as “gossip” from a “former talking head and television personality.” Here is an excerpt from the federal whistleblower complaint, signed by two former Aspiration employees, which described how Ballmer’s Clippers allegedly used carbon credits “to pay Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard an incentivized bonus to circumvent the NBA’s salary cap, disguised as an organic marketing sponsorship agreement.” This complaint, submitted under penalty of perjury, was made in 2023, long before I acquired more than 3,000 pages of internal documents and financials. To dismiss our last year of careful reporting as “gossip” is to also dismiss the same whistleblowers who provided the roadmap for the federal government to successfully convict Joseph Sanberg. @HailCeaser_ @Sean_Zittel Correct, 2021 he had 3 fights. In a 12 month span he did fight 4x but that’s not how TV budget works. Tv budget works per calendar year. Not arbitrary cycles.

@Sean_Zittel @TheKidIrv24 4 fights in 1 year for boxings #1 fighter is impossible in 2026 and beyond. No division is deep enough to do 4 PPVs in a year the way things work. Even if boxing was on network tv. After 1 year your opponent pool would be awful.

Shakur could've fought for the wbo at 140 and 3 more times this year. The 154 division has enough names they all can fight 4xs in a year. Canelo did it not too long ago

@LoreMas18653661 @NowWmma @Sean_Zittel @TheKidIrv24 Tank for example already is a star and every fight can be on ppv because he generates that type of attention even if you don’t like some of the opponents. Same can be said for some of Canelos or AJs fights. Ppv just makes the fighters way more $ which is why they do it.

He only fought Ryan, skipped out on Shakur, Devin, Teo, Loma. Every Benavidez fight is a PPV. How do you expect to build him into a star behind a paywall?

@TheSpitBucket I was referencing Nick khan saying Ali fought 4x in 1 year in whatever year he did that. So what I meant was biggest box office draw in America. I got love for inoue, but I don’t put him in the Canelo, Tank, Fury/AJ convo for box office.

@NowWmma @LoreMas18653661 @Sean_Zittel @TheKidIrv24 Canelo vs Benevidez also does huge numbers… just need the correct fights. Thats why mega stars don’t fight 3 or 4x per year typically. They want to maximize revenue, opponent depth and wear & tear on body.

@NowWmma @LoreMas18653661 @Sean_Zittel @TheKidIrv24 It’s not about the value of ppv. It’s about the fight and fighter. Boxing is starving for a star but I promise you if tank came back to rematch Ryan or Shakur. That fight will do big business. Ryan vs Devin 2 would probably do great as well.
