Newey appeared to have wanted the control of a TP based on the falling out with Horner at Red Bull. Based on my limited knowledge of his personality, Newey doesn't seem like he'd want an interim role as TP but to be the TP long term.
But as we know with Binotto, just because you can design a car doesn't mean you can lead the entire project.
English

@badcryptobitch nah newey has to have been an interim move, given both were at red bull, would be surprised if newey wasn't convincing him to come to AM
English

@badcryptobitch Yeah, I was talking about the UK -> Switzerland -> UK move in just a few months. Would have driven me crazy.

@MVdlJCardinal @preta_6 It’s a strange thing that a spirgy spectrum diagnosis in early 2000s caused me to adapt & figure out how to function despite my shortcomings. Fast forward to 2020s & people want a diagnosis as tho it’s a superpower that comes w special privileges!

I've been seeing a lot of folk on the timeline say IDEs are dying. But I don't get it. Are you guys not reviewing the code your agents generate 😅
Alex Kaplan@alexkaplan0
I hear the same. The IDE is dying. Everyone's managing agents now--mostly local, some cloud. Honestly Devin from @cognition is extremely slept on as the SOTA SWE agent.

Agents won't vibe-code a new Slack every time they need to communicate.
They'll use the same Slack because the other agent's team also uses Slack.
Traditional SaaS will survive because standards don't get disrupted by probabilistic code generation.
Network effects and standardization still matter.

@hackerdocc Well, there are meaningful forms of privacy that they could have applied before adding TEEs tbh but hey marketing a coin is more important than actually protecting users I guess 🤷
English

@badcryptobitch yeah agreed, but hey now they have e2ee! and i guess some people could have assumed they always had it which is kinda bad idk but in the end e2ee flows can be annoying ux-wise so i understand not going with it as a default, especially from the start
English

Proof that I was right all along 🤣🤣🤣
Venice really didn't provide any meaningful privacy until today.
I'll need to do another dive into the docs and code to see if it actually holds up.

OpenAI promises not training on your data if you are an entreprise customer or on one of the business plans. Otherwise, yeah, it trains on your data. But, they do have a SOTA model.
Venice doesn't have that kind of pull. As a consumer, you are just using an overall inferior product unless it offers a meaningful form of privacy worthy of making these kinds of tradeoffs for.
English

@badcryptobitch openai doesn't promise no-logs and in fact can train models on your data
but i see your point. tbh their docs are kinda vague about it, but i don't think it's a permissionless network anyone can join as a provider, otherwise yes, it wouldn't make sense
