One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever seen, which I encountered in the form of women’s bathroom graffiti: “Don’t be a little bitch. Be a HUGE bitch.” Reach for the stars, baby.

@BoobyJargon @baddestmamajama Oh? I had a hemorrhagic stroke in January less than 24h after the end of a Covid infection and nearly died. The neuro ICU was massively, unusually full at the time, almost as if something was causing a surprising number of strokes at the peak of winter Omicron infections.

@_Eric_Reinhart Any humanities postgrad could write all of this in the blink of an eye, but we can’t afford med school or, often, survive the inhumanities (lol) of residency. A lot of us would probably be pretty good doctors, so, it’s too bad medicine’s so structurally inaccessible as a field.

Studies have repeatedly shown that US medical training reduces people’s ability to empathize and effectively communicate with others. This story is testament to that reality and to the fact that we need an overhaul of medical school admissions criteria and training norms.
The New York Times@nytimes

Some physicians are finding that ChatGPT improves their ability to communicate empathetically with patients. "I was excited and amazed," one Microsoft executive said of doctors using the chatbot. "But, to be honest, a little bit alarmed." nyti.ms/3X3gI3M

@lisa_ledford @midhmar @eeberquist It would appear so. He even does many of the things one of an outmoded patriarchal mindset would say is "traditionally a woman's job" such as grocery shopping, cooking all the meals and doing his own laundry. Like, I'm not sure what else the poor guy could do here.

@AmyClukey It’s my 10th grade math teacher teaching it, too. The classroom has institutional linoleum squares, a real chalkboard w/ chalk, and those terrible 1960s(?) all wood deskchair desks. The tiny ones. Sometimes in this dream for no reason there is a truly giant aquarium in the room.

@probirding Sure, focus on the complicity of the absent—such a comforting way of avoiding having to really do anything or address how completely in collaboration our own lives are. And if anyone disagrees, tar them with the same brush, babe. Let’s call it the Crucible maneuver.

@probirding @NettieEmm @literElly Just keep repeating your original argument people have already explained the flaws in and maybe you will eventually drive everyone off and be left alone with… I’m not sure, actually, but good luck with your whole project!
