NEWS: Syracuse sophomore Donnie Freeman is entering the transfer portal, a source told @LeagueRDY. The 6-foot-9 forward out of Washington, DC is a former five-star recruit who has spent the last two seasons at Syracuse. He averaged 16.5PPG, 7.2RPG and 1.3APG this season.

Someone is going to have to explain to me why people keep making the point that it’s worse for kids to leave college with, at this estimate, 1.5M in the bank? In many cases it will be more.
Of course you need to be smart/disciplined with your money, but that’s at every age.

a) players should make as much as humanly possible (insinuates the PJ Haggerty 5 in 5 plan)

@badtw33ter great, then they have 300k to spend on getting a degree. Let's say they need an extra 1.5 years to get a degree, that's still probably only 75k or so from an awesome university, and then they're still up 225k and they're getting their degree.

@NutsBuster @Coach_Hickey5 For every portal success story, there are tons of players who don’t find a new home or end up transferring down, that’s not even considering how challenging a degree is when you go to 3 schools in 4 years. We can come to a compromise that allows movement and prioritizes education
