Fun fact: One of the Walis of Al-Andalus during the Umayyad Caliphate, Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Ashjaʿī al-Ghatafānī, came from the Ashjaʿ tribe, today found exclusively in Morocco 🇲🇦. This tribe, which later assimilated into Banu Maʿqil through alliance, lived during the 14th–15th centuries in the Tafilalet deserts, before being partly incorporated into the Cheraga Guich, in the region of Fez, in the Saʿdi era.

Fun fact: this Almoravid stucco fragment shares the same vegetal and arcature motifs found in several 12th-century monuments in Marrakech, suggesting a common workshop tradition across the region. Recently documented panel carved with acanthus leaves, seven-lobed palmettes, and a band of arcatures that likely once framed a mihrab or architectural niche. Discovered in the territory of the Arab tribe of Oulad Bousbaa in the Chichaoua region, in Maison de la Plaine.
