@caddietales Congratulations to your daughter and your family. No better feeling as a parent than to see your kids get “it”!

Indulgent bragging post about my third daughter on her graduation night....with a point that might be helpful, so please, stick with me!! This young lady is a mature servant leader. She was president of a number of organizations, including her student body. Performed in multiple choirs. Volunteered countless hours. Took on a lead role in this year's school musical to try something new. Held a job at the local Credit Union for the last two years. And is graduating at the top of her class. Next year she'll begin her studies to become a high school music teacher, and I'm happy (relieved) to say she received so many scholarships that $0 from my loops will need to help fund her education. So, yes, I'm a proud dad! But this is what touches me the most... At the speech she gave during her senior class awards night, she said this: "My dad has taught me how to overcome, and even though it's tough, you can grow from your mistakes and create a beautiful life for yourself." Her message wasn't one of bragging about her accomplishments, but pointing people to hope, healing, and growth. When we moved here in 2019 life couldn't have been worse. And now, it is indeed the beautiful life that is possible when we seek out our Next Shot with humility. But this beautiful life isn't just mine. It has spread to my kids. There is no greater joy than caddying for my favorite foursome as they navigate the ups and downs of each new day! We can all take a Next Shot that leads to something beautiful. And we can all take others along for the walk! That's something worth bragging about!

@acaseofthegolf1 Both my boys swam from 8 yrold to college. One a sprinter one distance, usually different sessions at club meets. They both have lifelong friends from it and now coach club and HS. We’ve made friends along the journey as well. Enjoy…if you can.

Rant about swimming. There is no worse spectator/logistical sport. Today’s meet is 2 hour drive from the house (standard drive for any away sport here). Team meeting at 10am. Teams from all over. Each event numbered. Then heats within that number. Example event one might have 4 to 8 heats. Our daughter’s first event….is number 53, her second…number 74. So 2.5 hours till she swims. Each event will take 45 seconds. No problem, we will watch other swimmers. Sorry, can’t. No stands, and only like 40 people around the pool at a time, so the crowd rotates. Also it’s -9 outside and 297 degrees on the pool deck. No problem, sitting in cafeteria, got my mom and me a muffin. Muffins are Frozen solid. 😂😂 Rant over.
