@Jarro4multivers I dont think people were expecting a dark mario movie, I think a mario movie that puts the jingling keys aside and tells a fitting story was something they expected. A movie is meant to tell a story, not be an hour and 30 minutes of nothing but references.

@bagofcobbles I mean why were you expecting a story from blank is valid. Some people really do expect a dark Mario movie for example. It’s a kid movies at the end of the day, the story will never be something like Interstellar in terms of story or the Batman for example.

Im so sick of people pulling the "Its for the FANS not the CRITICS." & "Why were you expecting a story from _____?)" cards for these types of movies, its like they only want mediocrity.

Illumination is a slop factory that is incapable of making anything of substance, it is the lowest of low compared to other big wig studios.
