and nobody wants to talk about it in the church which is exactly why it's so effective.
Silence is the enemy's strategy.
The moment we start having honest conversations about this in the body of Christ is the moment the chains start breaking.
James 5:16 says confess your sins to one another so you may be healed.
Healing starts with honesty.
English

@RealTalkKim and that's exactly how you know you're growing. When the people who knew the old you can't handle the new you, that's not rejection. That's confirmation that God is doing something real in your life. Keep shining.
English

@JohnPiper live or die, we are the Lord's. There's a freedom in that most people never experience. When you truly believe that, fear loses its grip on every area of your life. You stop living scared and start living surrendered.
English

@oliverburdick Billy Graham understood something that most believers miss.
Closeness to God isn't passive, it's a daily decision. You don't drift toward God.
You walk toward Him intentionally.
And the further you walk toward Him the less power the enemy has over you.
English

this is wisdom most people learn the hard way. I spent too long looking for someone to fill a void that only Christ could fill. When you're complete in Him first you stop choosing people out of desperation and start choosing people out of purpose. Two whole people following Jesus together is unstoppable.
English

@Paula_White nothing is too difficult for Him. Not your situation, not your past, not the thing you think is too far gone. The God who spoke the universe into existence is the same God working on your behalf right now. Jeremiah 32:27.
English

@bornagainsteph Pride is the silent killer in the church.
The moment we start ranking sins or looking down on people is the moment we've forgotten where God pulled US out of.
We were all in the same mess before grace found us.
Every single one of us.
English

@RealTalkKim this is the season I'm walking in right now. The attack was real but the restoration is going to be even more real. God doesn't just give back what was taken. He multiplies it.
English

@ShedeurSanders simple and powerful. That's all that needs to be said some days.
English

You will never outgrow your need for God.
Not when you're successful.
Not when you're healed.
Not when you've "made it."
The most dangerous season for a believer isn't the valley.
It's the mountaintop where you start thinking you got there on your own.
Stay dependent. Stay hungry. Stay surrendered.
The moment you think you don't need Him is the moment everything starts falling apart.
1 Corinthians 10:12 "So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall."
English

that's a fair point about the Council of Rome.
We clearly see this differently and I respect that.
At the end of the day we both believe in the same Jesus who died and rose again for us.
That's the foundation that matters most.
We can disagree on the canon and still be united in Christ.
God bless you brother.
English

@baileybrown @oliverburdick Not true. The church affirmed them at the council of Rome, which included the rest of the books of the Bible. Plus, Jews stopped holding it sacred 100 years after the death of Christ so their theological beliefs at that point are irrelevant.

The version of you that God is building will not make sense to the version of you that exists right now.
That's the whole point.
If you could see the full picture you wouldn't need faith.
So when life feels confusing and nothing is lining up the way you planned, remember this:
God is not confused. He's not panicking. He's not scrambling to fix things.
He's building something in you that requires this exact season.
Proverbs 19:21 "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."
Trust the process even when you can't see the progress.
English

@MikidadMiraji greetings brother, God bless you. Appreciate you being here 🙏
English

@baileybrown Hello dear brother greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ🙏❤
English

@Catholic_Iam @GiovanyMart77 @oliverburdick Jesus quoted from or referenced the Law, the Psalms, and the Prophets throughout His ministry.
Not once did He or any apostle quote from Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch, or 1 and 2 Maccabees.
That's not an opinion, that's just reading the New Testament.
English

the Holy Spirit working through the early church.
The 66 books were recognised, not chosen, because they were already bearing fruit and confirming themselves as God-breathed.
2 Peter 1:21 says men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
The authority is God's, the church simply acknowledged what He already established.
English

@baileybrown @oliverburdick Says who? Who made that decision specifically?
English

Luther didn't remove them.
He placed them in a separate section because they were never part of the Hebrew canon that Jesus and the apostles used.
The 7 books weren't added to the Catholic canon officially until the Council of Trent in 1546, over a thousand years after the early church.
That timeline matters.
English

@baileybrown @oliverburdick Wrong. Luther removed 7 books that coincidentally supported the Catholic’s church’s teaching on things from the very beginning.

English

with respect, the 7 additional books were not universally accepted by the early church and were never part of the Hebrew Scriptures that Jesus Himself read and quoted from.
The Council of Trent formally added them in 1546 as a response to the Reformation, 1600 years is not accurate.
The 66 books stand on their own and have never needed anything added to them.
English

@baileybrown @oliverburdick The Bible has 73 books and has for 1600 years. Some folks have rejected that reality and gone astray deleting 7 of them.
English

@bigger_bread @oliverburdick you're right, I don't. God does and His Word speaks for itself.
I'm just pointing to it.
English

@GiovanyMart77 @oliverburdick respectfully disagree, the apocryphal books were never accepted by the early church as Scripture on the same level.
Jesus and the apostles quoted from the Old Testament extensively and never once quoted from those additional 7 books.
That tells me everything I need to know.
English

@baileybrown @oliverburdick 73 books. All inspired, all sufficient, all pointing to Jesus from Genesis to Revelation. That's the real canon.
