@shuchig Is this open to the public? Can I just show up? Do I have to finagle an invite?

@shuchig This is my new favorite article for putting to words (better than I could) what I have been seeing, saying and feeling for while. Also the opening sentences are :chefs kiss:

"You can’t just learn how to craft a prompt for an #AI chatbot w/o first having the experience, exposure and, yes, education to know what the heck you are doing" Exactly the pt I make when expert coders share examples of "vibe coding" apps as a 10-yr old w no coding experience would🙄nytimes.com/2025/03/29/opi…

@amyjko Dang you're fast. I'm overwhelmed, still staring at a wall and off gassing.

@beardedpackets @JenMsft @engineers_feed can't. resist. ....yes, 6 has to be eliminated based on hints 1 & 2. Since 6 is in the first position in both hints 1 & 2, it cannot be the case that is both (1) part of the code and in the correct position and (2) part of the code and in the incorrect position.

@JenMsft @engineers_feed I came to the same answer as most of the others but it's also making assumptions for the parameters of the puzzle too. Nowhere was it stated that each hint wasn't omitting information about the solution For example: '6' doesn't have to be eliminated just based on hints 1 & 2.

@shuchig Maybe not a whole paper title, but certainly an aspect of most of these. N=9

@amyjko Small corner of history, my "uncle" Harold Tukey was the founding director of the school (institute?) of Urban Horticulture at UW. So if you need help with those terms you've got an institute in your backyard.

I want to start a tech review YouTube channel in which I unbox new devices, but instead of the new device inside, there’s surprise fruits and vegetables, which I then proceed to critically review as if it they were the new device, but using horticultural terminology. Go fund me?

@amyjko Ha! I was just talking about this with @jakebask! As a shameless Chicago booster I'm also all in on Eve Ewing.

@cklshorall You're not allowed to ask hard questions on twitter. I'm with @rlgreen91. Peppers I consider part of American-southern/Caribbean mirepoix. If you're going to try to make a decent Gumbo or Etouffee without bell peppers, I have no time for you.

Check out @BenjiXie’s fascinating Learning@Scale paper on interpretations of assessment bias! This is the culmination of a wonderful collaboration with @codeorg, supported by an @NSF INTERN supplement, a great resource for subsidizing internships, especially at not-for-profits.

@amyjko @BenjiXie @codeorg @NSF I'm biased. But I agree it's fascinating! And such an interesting approach to research!!! @BenjiXie has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Thoughtful, kind, understanding, professional and...crazy smart...are words that come to mind. 1/2

My summer scooter experiment! Things I’ve learned from zipping around my driveway: • ECO mode is plenty fast for me • It’s super fun! • Must wear shoes + helmet, maybe knee pads • Segway app is crapware • I want to cover it with so many stickers that it becomes unstealable

TODAY: Guy on our block corner masturbating while holding a handle of vodka (other hand), a downed power line in front of our house, & our neighbor backing her bigass truck up onto our car w/ about 100ft of space in front of her then saying "it wasn't me" while on top of our car.
