I have been dreaming of this day for a long time. Arena is now a book publisher, and our first volume, "Silicon" is open for preorders. It's quite unlike anything you've seen: a coffee table book capturing the ecstatic beauty of silicon technology. arenamag.com/silicon

AI isn't just for software. Here's a demo where my colleague built an MCP server to control @tektronix test equipment via voice commands. (Those commands could have come from an AI Agent.) youtube.com/watch?v=hwIYK7…

I sold 100 books/month in 2025! Mastering FPGA Chip Design: For Speed, Area, Power, and Reliability isn’t dethroning @StephenKing , but it is reaching the Electrical Engineering audience it was written for. Extremely grateful to @Elektor for believing in me. Achievement unlocked.

It’s the #Intel 4002! Let’s find out how the die looks like and what we can learn from a RAM designed in 1971!

The #Intel 4004 is actually part of the so-called MCS-4 chipset which consists of: -4001 ROM -4002 RAM -4003 shift register -4004 CPU After having completed the die photo stitch I will aim a finalising the whole set. May the epoxy be brittle!

@MakeAugusta Reminds me of the little “meter” Duracell used to put in their batteries.

@MouserElec What kind of AI-generated nonsense is that meter in the middle?

It’s a #Rolex! The HP PA-7100 is a 32-bit PA-RISC processor released in 1992 for HP 9000 Unix workstations. It was the first PA-RISC processor to integrate integer ALU and FPU onto a single die.

It’s a #Rolex! ⌚️ This doodle was produced using the sunken via techniques developed by HP designer. The method allows to use digital pictures and to create bitmap-like images using small micron sized vias as pixel. This doodle entails several thousands vias/pixel.
