Errrrrrr anybody got a lead on getting an Iraqi beer/non-alc? I've traipsed all around the Iraqi parts of London and found nothing but lemonade and grape juice. Oh and Iraqi airspace is currently closed because of what's going on in the middle east. Help?

@chrisbradish I saw the highlights and that green kit really is bloody lovely! Not sure the Verdant would fly for this but i appreciate the logic behind it

@ballstothis If you can’t find any may I suggest a suitable replacement? Iraq has green in their kit. Verdant means green. Get a Verdant beer.

@ballstothis Sorry for the belated reply. I don’t really know much about beer, as I’m not particularly into it. I’m only familiar with a few Ghanaian beers, including Club, which you mentioned.

The groups are now confirmed for the @FIFAWorldCup. I look forward to seeing @ballstothis carry on his customary tradition of posting a photo of beers from each of the participating teams in the tournament.

@FootballCliches France in 94 but we got Bulgaria instead so maybe we got the best option there

I realise why you might do it before a World Cup (Italy, this time, for some) but have we ever looked *back* at a World Cup and wished a non-qualifier was there to have enhanced the tournament? (Don't say England at USA '94, we know that's not true.)

@stevenheylen That would be incredible if you can score some more although I'm assuming unlikely... I'd take whatever I can get to be honest, a boozy beer like Reem, Farida, Yaqoot and Shahrazad or even a non-alc like Sanabel or Karwanchi Malt I can make Belgium work!

@HartleyR27 @BarclayTheLion I've seen people check in Yeem, Yaqoot, Farida and Shahrazad sporadically over the past year on Untappd so looks like they're still being produced at least!

@ballstothis @BarclayTheLion Drank Reem and Yaqoot out there a couple of years ago but not sure if the alcohol ban in Iraq proper imposed just before we arrived has forced them to close.

Buzzing for the five games tonight and then waking up tomorrow morning to see who qualifies out of Iraq and Bolivia. Bosnia and Kosovo dumping out Italy and Turkiye would be hilarious but much harder to get beers for Not a clue how to get an Iraq beer so hoping Bolivia win tbh

@RobertoRojas97 Iraq have the better FIFA ranking but this is the toughest playoff to call imo. Can Bolivia do well away from the altitude? Will Iraq be any good after their journey to get to Mexico? Can't wait to see what happens!
