@JeffMarsico @BankDirector Well, I've been going since Bill Seidman was running the program, and every year I-Bankers are always optimistic - but they are paid by the deal, so it's a bit self defeating to say otherwise. Some of the Bankers are just more sober about the risks and potential headwinds

You mean they were optimistic at #AOBA26? @BankDirector

So how did Q1 Bank Deals compare to historical norms - well surprisingly lower than last year, lower than the 2 week truncated COVID year, lower than the 2021 "Post Covid Hangover Quarter" and well below 2022 (with it's reported hostile administration view for deals)

@JillCastilla @CitizensEdmond @heardonhurd @vault_405 @rise405 @MidtownBank @DowntownEdmond I was a bank intern when we celebrated 100 years at First State Bank of Decatur in 1984 and we all dressed in 1880s garb for the celebration. One unique memory was of me sitting in morning tails in the moldy basement vault looking at manual ledger cards for the auditors (Crowe)

@JeffMarsico Yeah - you know who else didn't request funds from the FHLB, IndyMac! Oh wait they failed their tripwire and couldn't request funds - sheesh

I thought that these were the technical problems that led to SVB collapse but a banker confidently told me they did not request funds from FHLB. And I’m taught to be polite. gemini.google.com
