@buzeenkowlier Queer people don’t ALWAYS HAVE TO come out but they do have a responsibility to respect other people’s right to informed sexual consent at all times. Choosing to withhold information that you know may influence a person’s consent takes away informed consent.

A fact: a person who wouldn’t discriminate against a bisexual person in the work place, infringe on their human rights or insult them because of their sexuality but prefers not to date them; is by definition not homophobic. We can’t just casually add things to definitions.

@buzeenkowlier Lying is ALWAYS a choice. A person who chose to lie about their sexuality in order to appeal to another person’s romantic interest, not only CHOSE to do so; they also CHOSE to take away someone else’s informed sexual consent. They are NOT the victim in the life they chose.

@baonemoeng you dont get it, youre straight. its the amygdala kicking in, its rsd and past trauma. its not a choice, its instinct. being closeted is not self inflicted, its survival, like a rape survivor not immediately disclosing that fact. the trauma is not the same but trauma is trauma.

@buzeenkowlier There’s nothing in these screenshots that says being closeted isn’t a choice. Being closeted is self-inflicted. “I lied about having experience because I really need this job”. Your reason for lying does not deprive you of a choice, no matter how sad it is.

Consent can be revoked at any time, for any reason. Trying to unpack those reasons to find character flaws is coercive.

The preference/dating pool of the men you used as an example excludes all other tops (a group of men) but you haven’t assigned a phobia to that like you have to straight women’s preference to date straight men.
