18. Lapvona by Ottessa Moshfegh. I'm not quite sure was it was all about. I did, however, thoroughly enjoy reading about this madcap medieval realm and its denizens.

17. Hare House by Sally Hinchcliffe. Promised much and created reasonable intrigue, but didn't quite deliver. Never as gothic or spooky as it threatened to be and the ending felt underwhelming.

Kicking off this year's reading list like last year's: with a Japanese author.
1. A Wild Sheep Chase by Haruki Murakami. Such an easy read, but with such a complex mystery at its heart. Wonderful start to the year.

Time for another book list, or bist if you will. 1. The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro. A tidily crafted mystical fable that draws you in from the get go - also set in that early medieval period that scratches just the right spot for me.

A good portion of the 4% who ticked “Restore Britain” will have confused it with Reform UK.
In 2015, newly-founded shell outfit “Independence from Europe” siphoned off 235,124 votes after being mistaken for the UK Independence Party.
Either way, 4% is lizardmen territory.
