Today’s Bear of the Day is Sam from Arosa Bear Sanctuary in Switzerland! Sam is a 22 year old male brown bear who was taken from an unsuitable zoo habitat in 2022! He now lives happily in a scenic and natural alpine environment at the sanctuary! #beartwt

If you're under the assumption that Kael'thas or Denathrius being Astalor's "Secret supplier" somehow "villain-bats" him, or he's "working for them", & destines him a raid boss—You misunderstand Blood Elves & why Astalor is so important in returning a part of their core culture. Not to usurp the "current culture", but to be the representative of the adjacent & darker side of what it means to be a Blood Elf. Power & survival by that power through any means, has always been their theme. Revendreth has already been named as the origins of Blood Magic; it's fair to say that he draws his power & knowledge from that realm as part of the Cosmology Chart. Just as Fel = Chaos, Blood Magic = Death/Life/Soul/Anima/Spirit. "Blood is the Life. Blood is the coin of the Soul." Torture of the spirit, the soul, through blood in order to control it. "Pain cleanses the soul." Kael'thas, who was renowned for being the only Mage to master Vorpal Weapons (As seen in his raid fight), likely also drew said knowledge from Revendreth as Vorpal Weaponry is steeped in the entire realm. Sorcerers like Medivh reached out into the vast cosmos to learn what he did to become the greatest Mage of all time. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this type of world building & takes away nothing from any character. It just shows what great lengths they will go for the Blood Elves' greatest necessity. The source of knowledge does not diminish the knowledge finder. "Soon the Sunwell will be obsolete." Infinite power, infinite security, survival assured. This doesn't make Astalor a villain, or evil, or worthy of being turned into a raid boss. That black & white thinking is why we cannot have nuanced characters anymore, because players instantly think "kinda sus" = "loot piñata". Start accepting characters doing questionable things & not getting riled up about it, like it somehow marks them for death. You are allowed to root for "edgy characters" doing "edgy things". Denathrius survived because of his immense fandom. Start rooting for Astalor—He's the best thing we've gotten for Blood Elf lore in ages. 🍷🔥
