Public service announcement on Novavax vaccines: The Novavax vaccine finder website shows all CVS locations, but 1 of 2 I called didn't have it. For the CVS that has it, the CVS site only shows Moderna. So I have to make an appt for Moderna but ask for Novavax when I get there.

@erinmillerpt Nothing has changed for us; it's actually easier to get the priming series now.

It looks like everything worked out exactly as I had promised. Getting COVID vaccines on the shared clinical decision-making list last year, so anyone could get a new priming series of Novavax, created a pathway to protect access to all COVID vaccines. People said it wasn't necessary, but the truth is, it's impossible to tell what is truly necessary at any given time… But if you just try to help the largest pool of people, it tends to work. In other news, anyone can access a COVID vaccine, and our group's work made it possible… Better still, we didn't have to lift a finger for this meeting to make it happen.

@Daniel_E_Park Is there a downside to getting another Novavax now after getting Novavax this September (and having Novavax, Pfizer, Moderna in prior years)?

@bardleyford Sorry my guess is the vaccines won't help in this case because the damage likely occurred long ago and isn't recurring. Vocal cord nerves can recover over a few months; after that nerve transplant may help (not sure if it's covered by insurance): my.clevelandclinic.org/health/disease…

@JenniferRodney hi I saw your AMA on Reddit and had a question re your rec to see a laryngologist for a stroboscopic exam before exercises.Does this rec apply for a paralyzed vocal cord?Is the concern potential additional damage from exercises or just less-than optimal treatment?

@Friesein Hi I called my local Meijer today in Cadillac Michigan and was told they are not getting the Novavax Covid vaccine sadly. Costco in Traverse City said they are awaiting shipment and to call and check back in a few weeks.
