@yallneedcharlie @iemonade stronger live arrangements for songs that aren't as strong at their base, while cowboy carter songs in their studio version are already vocally demanding, she did less because it required less to have nearly as much impact on the mic

@baredaggafck @iemonade I can see this for people who didn’t initially get Renny but also this statement is flawed because the cct versions were damn near identical to the studio version the live arrangements were different during Renny meanwhile cc yes was mixed but still had the same arrangements

youre right about that, renny is definitely easier to get through in one listen because its a singular theme throughout the entire album, not to mention almost half as long as cowboy carter to begin with but thats also one of the shortcomings of it as an album, cowboy carter has multiple themes including sad, happy, sexy and whatever else you wanna call it type of songs and though its sometimes hard to hear songs that vary so deeply in emotion back to back it makes it a stronger body of work in general while keeping you wondering what shes going to pull out of her hat on the next track, renny has no songs with nearly as much artistic, vocal, instrumental or any kind of depth for that matter, and rennys strongest song is by far virgos groove and has no other contenders that match up to the majority of songs on cc from a musical standpoint, renny is a fun album altogether but in every aspect other than that cc is a stronger album, and it shows because cc is much more critically acclaimed as well // on a completely different note, cc is just a lot more "beyonce" than renassaince, the strong vocals, the layering, the range, renassaince is by far a stand alone in beyonces discography and doesn't display her talent as an artist at all

@baredaggafck @iemonade I have to partially disagree with this I definitely seen trends surrounding AHAP pretour specifically on the sports side of the internet used for edits and if anything i feel Renny was definitely easier to get through

a lot rennys replay value truly comes from a lot of you vicariously living through the tour and a lot of people fail to realize that, theres a reason the live versions are the only ones that stick when people play it over, vs cc that has timeless songs with more meaning than the former

@yallneedcharlie @iemonade the track listing wasn't "wacky" it was the way it was because it shows range, the entire point of even stepping into the country genre was to show her range in places that aren't her specialty after she it got disregarded before, renaissance mostly picked up traction post tour

@yallneedcharlie @iemonade cowboy carter on the other hand took you through a plethora of scenarios in the "country scene" with solemn ballads like jff or 2mw to bodyguard and tyrant, and to call the songs in cc anticlimactic is so unfair when you have songs with insane climaxes like bodyguard, AR & 2h2h

@yallneedcharlie @iemonade the quality of the music definitely was tho, cc has her best album opener, its a country album that still spans across other genres while keeping the country theme, and thematically tells a story not to mention just better written in general
