One thing I've noticed about successful builders: They don't necessarily have better products. They just find a channel that works and stay there longer than everyone else. What's been your highest-signal acquisition channel so far?

Question for indie hackers: How many users did your first SaaS have before you realized distribution mattered more than product? For me, it happened way later than it should have. Interested to hear other people's stories. #buildinpublic

Hot take: Building in public isn't about marketing. It's about reducing the odds that you spend 6 months building something nobody wants. The followers are a bonus. The feedback is the real asset. What's your experience been? #buildinpublic

I’ve noticed something interesting: Most builders I meet can ship. Most builders I meet cannot get distribution. What’s working best for you right now? • X • LinkedIn • SEO • Cold email • Communities • Something else Curious what everyone is seeing. #buildinpublic

@barelto Building BuildBase, to stop duct-taping Clerk + Stripe + Lago + Knock. One React/Next.js SDK: auth, workspaces, usage-based billing (quotas + overages), notifications, feature flags, i18n. buildbase.app

Email waitlists are mostly vanity metrics. 300 signups means nothing if 90% close the tab instantly. You want the 10 buyers who actually analyze your pitch deck or video for 4 minutes. If you aren't tracking intent depth at signup, you're building blind. #buildinpublic

Curious what everyone's answer is: What's the hardest part of building a SaaS right now? • Finding ideas • Building • Getting users • Converting users • Retention For me, it's almost never the building.

The biggest advantage founders had 10 years ago was being able to build software. Today, almost anyone can. The advantage now is GTM. Customer discovery. Positioning. Distribution. Sales. The builders who figure that out will beat developers with 10x their technical skill.

One thing I love about the indie hacker community: You can find someone building a $10M company and someone launching their first side project in the same feed. Both are interesting. What are you building right now? Drop it below 👇 #buildinpublic

@ChadAppDev Are you using a quiz or anything similar? Are you building up any value or forcing the user to invest time/effort before your paywall?

Hot take: Most founders don’t need another idea. They need 10 customer conversations. I’ve seen people spend months validating an idea online. Meanwhile a 15-minute call with a potential customer would have told them exactly what to build.

One lesson I still believe: The best markets are often the ones tech founders ignore. Look for people running businesses without great software. That’s where opportunities hide.

My first SaaS was for nail artists. Most founders would classify that as B2C. I learned it was actually B2B disguised as B2C. I wasn’t selling to consumers. I was selling to business owners. 👇
