The biggest advantage founders had 10 years ago was being able to build software. Today, almost anyone can. The advantage now is GTM. Customer discovery. Positioning. Distribution. Sales. The builders who figure that out will beat developers with 10x their technical skill.

Hot take: Most founders don’t need another idea. They need 10 customer conversations. I’ve seen people spend months validating an idea online. Meanwhile a 15-minute call with a potential customer would have told them exactly what to build.

One lesson I still believe: The best markets are often the ones tech founders ignore. Look for people running businesses without great software. That’s where opportunities hide.
