I never thought I’d say this but the late 00’s and 2010s were an iconic era in Johannesburg. Remember when the Braam & Juta str revival were peak & new? When Cafe Post was there & Dokter & Misses? Neighbourgoods at its zenith? Wolves in Illovo? The explosion of bands?

The year I started working, we went to Kitcheners straight from our desks on our first payday and just didn't leave. At some point, they locked the doors and said they would only let us out in the morning, to shower for work. That night was what we earned those salaries for.
