@ReubenHerbert1 @BulletRobinson @slimmatt1 @derekpringle Just a thought before 1963 a no ball was called on the back foot, fast bowlers used to drag through the crease, Frank Tyson bowled in this era and would have released the ball a lot closer to the batsman then they do today,

Back in the day, this is how you found out you were picked for England. Stayed at my parents last night and mum dug out the ‘scrapbook’. I never actually played in this game (had to give the jumpers back) but a certain Mr Warne did who bowled ‘that ball’.

@derekpringle Decent protective equipment & bowling machines help a lot. It is now much easier to practice against fast bowling.
