@JuSummerhayes @KatharineBDevon @Riverford 2b. All of these require us to rethink our economic model. Rapacious consumerism and unmitigated waste must be replaced by more thoughtful custodianship. Our legal framework only embeds financial gain as a requirement. This has to protect social and environmental interests.

@JuSummerhayes @KatharineBDevon @Riverford 2a. Personally I don’t think Net Zero is the most useful phrase. The world is a complicated ecosystem. Yes, we need to address emissions but only if we consider the protection of biodiversity, soil quality, the management of woodlands and forests and the cleaning of our oceans.

@JuSummerhayes @KatharineBDevon @Riverford This, of course, is the most important question. But it needs breaking down: 1. What will COP26 achieve? 2. Why Net Zero? 3. Why the competition? 4. What did / will we achieve? More than can be answered in one tweet! We have lots to reflect on - more to follow
