An amazing Dark-Breasted Barn Owl has been spotted in Lincolnshire since February 🤩 This 'guttata' sub species is found in mainland Europe, but very rarely some owls from 🇧🇪🇳🇱🇩🇰🇩🇪 cross the North Sea to winter or breed in the UK with our 'alba' birds 🧡🪽barnowltrust.org.uk/barn-owl-facts…

By fitting Owl boxes, we know they can be a home for other birds inc Doves and Jackdaw. Not often we find a Mandarin Duck though! This female is incubating a clutch of 11 eggs in a Tawny Owl box on the reserve while the males prance around on the pond 🍊🦆 shorturl.at/m4iBi

@Paul__Browning_ We call them floaters or drifters as they aren't tied down to one area until they find a mate. We would really appreciate if you could add this sighting to our UK Survey Website: barnowlsurvey.org.uk. Thanks!🦉
