The variances add like resistors in parallel (convolution behaves like resistors in series). As a result, the posterior ends up with lower variance than both the prior and the observation!

@mattjmcewen @AEickbusch Great work! Just a question about the value you use for A in the superconducting gap equation: The reference you cited mentioned 600 uVnm, whereas you have 900 uVnm. I guess it depends on fabrication but can you give some details?

@chaoyanglu @jenseisert @NobelPrize Four of us won the Breakthrough Prize: Deutch, Bennett, Brassard, and me. Three of us won the BBVA award and a different three won the Dirac Medal. So the pessimist's prediction is that the Nobel Committee will wait for one of us to die, and award the Prize to the survivors.
