@askewshades @BearInsider The time between the play ending and last shove was minuscule compared to the late hit on the Hawaii WR earlier in the game. The fight happened out of frustration at losing in the way they did.

The shoves that ignited Hawaii Bowl brawl - Regardless of anyone's actions in the ensuing Hawaii Bowl brawl, this is what started it all - Hawaii cornerback Peter Manuma shoving 5-7/170 Cal receiver Quaron Adams to the turf from behind, then twice more once he gets to his feet.

@JMUGameday Or do something similar to college football in Japan where high performers move up a division and low ones move down the next season.

Hawaii (didn’t make MWC championship game) beat 2 ACC teams this year Don’t tell the G6 that we can’t compete with P4 teams Why should teams like Stanford, UCF, Cal, Syracuse, Northwestern be eligible for the CFP but JMU, Tulane, Boise State, and others shouldn’t be? FBS is FBS

@BlacktopBoiler Weaver averages 6 yds/pass with a long of 47 - he’s not someone Hawaii brings in only for “deep shots”. Hawaii could’ve also thrown short outs to shorten the FG as it was windy and Matsuzawa missed a 52 yarder earlier.

Some of the calls offensive and defensive coordinators make in crucial moments just baffle me. Like Hawaii and California there. I would love to know what’s going on in Californias DCs mind seeing Hawaii have no timeouts, In field goal range needing 30 yards and only 15 seconds left. They also bring in their back up QB who only takes deep shots. And he think it’s a good idea to have players press and leave gaps open over top. What’s he seeing there in that situation that I wasn’t seeing lol. Why do you not have the TD protected there with one shot. Astonishes me.

@NewsatTwm @RedditCFB It’s just very niche. Only roughly 100 high schools in Japan play AF and it’s said 18k give or take play it in some capacity. Compared to soccer (7.5m), baseball (7.3m), vball (6.5m), it’s tiny, so less sponsors and coverage. UH’s Tokyo Toe going to the NFL would definitely help.

@barrettish_ @RedditCFB Understanding/awareness issue seems odd to me as AF is played in some high schools and seems v ingrained. Then you have a player such as Hawaii University's kicker this season "the Tokyo Toe" who it's said learned to kick via You Tube as if from a country with/o AF infrastructure

Congratulations to the Ritsumeikan Panthers (命館大学PANTHERS) for winning their second consecutive Koshien Bowl, pulling the upset win over the KG Fighters in the 80th Koshien Bowl to win Japan’s National Championship!🇯🇵🏈🏆

@NewsatTwm @RedditCFB I think that’s the reason, plus Japan did pretty well in international competition which helped boost rugby. Spectators probably vary but I also feel like rugby is on TV more. Interest and understanding of AF is also still quite low amongst general Japanese, unfortunately.

@barrettish_ @RedditCFB Thanks. I find it really hard to figure out (from very far away) which of rugby or AF is more popular in Japan. I guess rugby has the advantage of international competition, and hosted the World Cup, but I'm not sure all Japanese rugby internationals get 24,000 spectators.

@RedditCFB Do you know the attendance? I saw there was 39,000 for university rugby championship in Japan last week and wondering how it compares.

@Saveusall22 It’s control that matters. His hands weren’t fully on the ball until he was out of bounds - you can see the ball spin towards the right by watching the laces, and the end closest to him fishtails out. You can see the gaps between his hands and the ball: x.com/barrettish_/st…

@prizmaaz @FirstDownMediaa His hands aren’t even fully on the ball yet and he’s out of the end zone so it’s not a TD robbed.

@KcSmurthwaite Ching could potentially be expanded to ~22.5k for less. This is to entice new development w/o locals being a big priority, and existing infrastructure needs to be better maintained. When built out, it’s said to account for $30M annual net salary and 700 jobs, so only $42k avg pp.

I’ve gotten a few DMs on my thoughts about the New Aloha Stadium.🏟️ 🔘Sure, capacity could be higher, but I see areas for temporary bleachers or permanent expansions—easily. It looks like that’s already in the plans.🪑 🔘UH has had nothing for years. This is a WIN. This could have dragged on for years and put UH in a much more difficult spot… trust me. It’s not a championship, but it’s a big WIN.🏆 🔘In an age of decline in attendance at big stadiums + venues removing seats to add premium amenities… this is right on par with that standard. Id imagine (hope) for a large amount of amenities at NASED. 🔘 “Theres nothing wrong with a ticket that’s hard to come by.” | Revenue | However, Hawaii is one big family. It’s different there. I hope they don’t price out the amazing families + children hoping to see events. Flip side… great opportunities for marketing those assets!❤️

Hawaii has approved plans to build a new Aloha Stadium. The state will contribute $400M for the new 22,500-seat home of Rainbow Warriors football, set to be completed in 2029.

@StarAdvertiser When I rode it, the train was pretty good but there’s nothing really around the stations. Obviously convenience and usefulness is key, so I was surprised to see a train but nothing built out around it.
