we are so cooked i posted AI photos of myself and my family told me how beautiful i looked. they were complimenting a moment that never existed we’ve always edited photos. we’ve always used filters. we’ve always chosen the most flattering angle so why does this feel different? why does this feel like i crossed some invisible line that i can’t quite explain? it’s still my face. it’s still my energy. it just…never happened. and if you can’t tell the difference, does the difference even matter? or did we just lose something we can’t name yet?

@barrycollier I think of the story you told me of your wife’s family all the time, Barry. I’m glad there’s some hope.

It reminds me of “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind”, but the opposite is true. Pacifism in the face of evil is what blinds the world, because evil doesn’t stop when you refuse to fight it. It spreads. Stopping evil is what allows the innocent to see, to live, to be free. An unfortunate truth in this world is that peace rarely comes peacefully.

Fairytale pacifism is truly a plague. When adults yell "Violence is never a solution" it feels like explaining to a 4-year-old that some people are veeeery very bad and sometimes force is the only thing what stops them from hurting others.

This is what it has felt like in our house today. This is what it feels like when everything was death, darkness, and despair, only to now finally have hope and freedom again. If you don’t feel this to your core, I honestly cannot (and don’t want to) relate to you.

It's really hard to put into words how this feels right now. I'm not Iranian, but my family is. My partner and wife of nearly 29 years was born in Shiraz, and her family was forced to flee their homeland and everything they had when their father became a target of this regime after the revolution. So many innocent and beautiful lives lost, so many Iranians forced to flee their homeland, but this regime's time is now coming to an end. I believe the amazing Iranian people, with their thousands of years of rich culture and history, will find a way to rebuild Iran into the peaceful, prosperous country and become a beacon of what is possible in the region. I cannot wait to be there to watch Parisa and her family step foot back onto the soil of their homeland again after more than 40 years. And I can't wait to see and hug all of my amazing Iranian friends and family for the first time in their homes. Much love to you all. 💚🕊️❤️‍🩹 #FreeIran‌ #AzadiFinally
