@barrysty1e

If you haven't pissed off someone whilst doing it, you aren't doing it right.

After politely requesting a support contract from Microsoft for long term maintenance, they offered a one-time payment of a few thousand dollars instead. This is unacceptable. We didn't make it up, this is what @microsoft @microsoftteams actually did: #comment:4" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/10341#c

@Dash_Community does dash have a letter of legal opinion, stating that it is not a security?

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is suing Bittrex for what they allege is selling illegal securities. One of the assets listed was #Dash 😯 There's no reasonable interpretation that would call Dash a security. Let's break down what this means👇 1/11

@Medi_Naseri @bh30317 @OGBTC @laurentiapool it is incredibly simple to check for this, by using a shim or stratum proxy to listen for the mining.notify broadcast.. you can additionally see the address that the pool uses in the coinbase fields

@bh30317 @OGBTC Even the savvy miners would never know! It is all about minimizing the element of trust in dealing with pools. In practice all pools manage the funds the same way except for @laurentiapool which hasn't been well received by the industry just yet.

I think BIP47 should be industry standard for mining pool payouts As the industry has moved to FPPS payout schemas and mining at home is prevalent we need to shift #Bitcoin

@hash_bender @AB_Brammer @OGBTC hear hear! the catchcry seems to be 'dont share xpub'.. however seconds after creating a new wallet in electrum/bitcoin core etc, this argument dissolves.. xpub also does not require linking payments, nor are you locked into any vendor specific wallet.

@AB_Brammer @OGBTC Here’s my opinion on current implementations. Adding true support to the base layer would be a nice addition though I’m not sure I would go as far as to say it should be the de facto payout mechanism for miners. xpub solves this already, though somewhat less elegant

@OGBTC @barrysty1e no can do it requires user interaction and we have to build systems which default to the user being 6 sigmas away from the middle of the bell curve

My old Mac Book Pro 2015 took over 30 minutes to compile DigiByte-Core. My new Mac Book Pro M1 (2021) only requires about 1 minute. It's a huge difference. #DigiByte

@AlexChainlink @cryptopopara AFAIK is not possible to use a stealth address destination, in a coinbase (aka mining) transaction.

@YoshiJaeger Base58 aka Legacy addresses have inbuilt checksumming, bech32 has some protection against mistakes but it isn’t infallible. Eth addresses have no means of error checking, besides the case checksumming that is not mandatory.

Segwit addresses almost solve this as it has a checksum in the end of the address. However, let me propose a solution: why not a verification id next to the address? For instance: The decimal representation modulo 2 billion? Easy to verify for humans, hard to fake for bots

What are vanity addresses? How can haxxors use them to steal your coins? How can dapps use them to protec you? What can wallets do to protec you? What can you do to protec yourself? A thread on some obscure knowledge, on things you don’t know you don’t know. Might save ur ass.
