Your body will tell you when you need to eat more carbs. No other sensible dogma or philosophy on this. At my fattest I could train fasted + low carb easily. Made little difference bc my training capacity was low anyway. 'Metabolism' and hunger satiety signals drastically improve as you lose visceral fat + gain muscle. By FAR the biggest driver. You'll know it bc you're not constantly hungry or binging. There's a distinct point in which you get leaner, abdomen shrinks in circumference, & overall training capacity increases but can no longer be done fasted. Then you ramp up carbs. Your performance & gains will ramp up with it. Makes zero sense to tell guys doing nothing all day to eat more carbs as if that'll be what increases their metabolism the most. Working backwards.
