Recently, I was laid off from @zora, along with many of my talented colleagues. I spent three years there, first as a growth-focused curatorial lead, then as the Head of Partnerships, and I'm proud of the work we accomplished alongside such a talented team. For a while, revenue surged, adoption accelerated, and awareness went global. We charted on the App Store! Good times. I had the privilege of overseeing grant programs and partnership deals that supported artists, collectives, builders, and dreamers around the world to produce exhibitions, gatherings, performances, trips, community spaces, and creative experiments; from São Paulo to Tokyo, Buenos Aires, to the UK, and beyond. It was crazy! We partnered with globally recognized talent like Grimes while supporting people at the very beginning of their creative journey, finding win-win situations with partners who could amplify our GTM while accomplishing their goals. The range and social impact were important to me, and it kept me driving forward for a long time. We were able to make a material change in people’s lives, and I’ll never forget that. That was everything to me. When I joined, I felt deeply aligned with the mission: supporting creative people who haven't traditionally had access to opportunity because of geography or identity, A mission I had been working on long before crypto. I'm grateful to everyone I worked with, especially the artists, organizers, community leaders, and builders who poured genuine care into what they were creating. But TBH I'm also grateful for this release… Full-time work meant my own art, organizing, and building always came second, and I’m ready to get back in that saddle. I also felt that, recently (as many of you had pointed out), the mission alignment that had driven me so passionately in the beginning had begun to drift in a different direction... Now, I get to put that energy back into the things I love. I’m already deep into building something new around the IRL coordination and discovery layer. More soon. Beijos, Zak
