probably a sample bias, but i see many kids at 22-23 having a decent tech job, good apartment, workout routine, hobbies, travel, aesthetic posting as compared to when i graduated 7-8 years ago. people are set right out of college. wasn't this common not so long ago.

i rarely if ever truly prepare for anything anymore. at some point, your entire life either becomes the preparation or it doesn’t. & if the accumulated pattern of how i think, work, notice, respond, synthesize, improvise, & stay calm under pressure hasn’t prepared me for the thing in front of me, i doubt a few frantic days/hours beforehand are going to save me. i find it way more useful to just breathe & not think about it too much.

One of the best pieces of advice I ever got: If you want a calmer life, you need to address small problems while they’re still small. The cost of dealing with an issue rarely gets cheaper with time. Procrastination turns uncomfortable things into unavoidable things.
