I love that. But it does make me ask… 👉 Why is it sometimes different when it comes to St George’s Day? 👉 Why should there be any discomfort in celebrating being proudly English? Being proud of where you come from shouldn’t come with hesitation. It shouldn’t be something you feel the need to tone down or apologise It’s about identity. It’s about heritage. So if fewer people can afford to go away… that ripple effect hits everyone. And while all of this is happening — what is our Prime Minister doing? From where I’m standing… not nearly enough. Instead of focusing on the real, everyday pressures facing people across this country, he seems far more concerned with firefighting political chaos of his own making. We need leadership that is strong, focused, and actually dealing with the issues that matter — the cost of living, economic stability, and security. Right now? I don’t think people feel safe. I don’t think people feel secure. And I certainly don’t think people feel supported. Selston High School. Today I asked the Government about Selston High School, 25% of which is currently closed off due to structural issues in the building. To that end I am supporting the school in submitting a bid to the Government to have the school rebuilt through the School Rebuilding Programme. This programme is a continuation of the one in which Ashfield School and Outwood Academy Kirkby's respective bids were successful after I supported their bids. I asked the Minister to ensure that Selston High School also gets the money for the school to be rebuilt.
