This am Channel Infra CEO Rob Buchanan said it would take 2-3 months to get 2 Marsden tanks ready for diesel storage. Why didn't Shane Jones do this in Feb 25 when the fuel security study he commissioned said it was cheapest + best resilience option? newstalkzb.co.nz/on-air/mike-ho…

@DrewPavlou In New Zealand's case it was the centre-right that initiated a change of flag so all the lefties opposed it, and the general public just wouldn't take it seriously, so no-one could agree on a replacement.

@MaryWomble Nothings free. All of us would be paying for it. Including those of us who do not have access to public transport. You'd have to be a Labour or Greens supporter?

Borrowed millions to give tax cuts to the rich 1st thing, & then took the scalpel to just about every public sector, now we have an economy drifting like a bung Interislander ferry, & ready for a credit downgrade. National, the party that does economics better? Yeah right #nzpol

@fernhill1302 @bassguitaruke @mangonui08 Yeah, we all know how it works. Privatise the profits, socialise the losses. The refinery needed billions$ to get it up to standard. It was run by a private group of investors. They should have invested in it.

The only reason we're having to recommission Marsden Point storage is because Megan Woods closed it down.

@G_Davidson_NZ @mangonui08 By constantly increasing minimum wages (and entitlements) without increased productivity, the Labour Govt did just that. It’s unaffordable unattractive to operate in NZ now, so such operators are leaving.. I don’t blame them to be honest-the work ethic is better elsewhere..

I shall not miss Brooke VV but I’m sure she is looking forward to a future which no doubt will feature mergers & acquisitions, where she can happily spend her days following her passions; restructuring, redundancy, asset stripping & kicking people while they are down.

@NuZillund You sanctimonious cunt. We all remember the photo of Michael Woodhouse holding a toilet seat with an image of Clare Curren on it. Fuck you and your wank circle mates.

Trivia corner: Brooke van Velden was not quite the youngest Cabinet minister ever. Both her and Phill Goff were sworn in at 31 but Goff was eight days younger.

BREAKING: Just five minutes before Trump's announcement to halt the attacks on Iran, massive trades reportedly hit the market. In one move, $1.5 billion in S&P 500 (ES) futures was bought while $192 million in oil (CL) futures was sold. These orders were 4–6x larger than anything else at the time. The trader seemingly made huge gains. Unusual.

Oh no, Griffins has gone woke and used the A word. Yes people, they have referred to what used to be called New Zealand as Aotearoa. Old mate Winston has gone crazy about it, demanding an immediate stop to all buscuit purchases.

This NZ Labour cabinet were responsible for the single biggest act of economic sabotage in our lifetime allowing the shutdown of the Marsden Point oil refinery.
