@MatthewOhayon @MitchyGallo It was a gratuitous comment. Not sure why this is relevant - he’s not even in the lineup. Mean spirited feels more like someone trying to make themselves the story. Media gets it wrong sometimes - you would have been better served acknowledging such.

1. Nothing wrong with Patrik Laine replying. It’s fair game. 2. Stop complaining about media criticizing players. They are grown ass men. 3. If what Marc said is not true, why haven’t the Habs put Laine back in the lineup? He’s been in a contact jersey for over a month now.

If I’m Hutson or his agent, I don’t take a dime less than Dobson. And I’m in no rush to sign any long term contract anyways. An 8-year deal at 8.5 million will be a bargain in 4-years. Doesn’t make sense to sign anything now unless it’s way higher.

@MitchyGallo @mndamico @notshar68948955 Maximizing career earnings is not main job of the agent. Helping a player successfully navigate his career is. Putting undue pressure on a young player with one year under his belt as the highest paid player on team is not a recipe for success.

That’s fine for GMs, if I’m the agent for Hutson I know that as time goes, likely the salary continues to increase. If I’m trying to maximize career earnings for my player, an 8 year deal at the comps you said will definitely be advantageous to the team and not maximize earnings for the client.

All in all, there is not enough 5-on-5 hockey in pre-season. So difficult to get any chemistry and momentum. I don’t have any solutions but the hockey is so pedestrian it’s frustrating to watch 6 games without any flow.
