@sscarlettamelie american paper sizes literally use the exact same system for sizing up as metric paper sizes. why would it be a shock that its done in inches instead of cm when inches are standard in the US? e.g. ARCH A: 9x12", ARCH B: 12x18 etc. ANSI A: 8.5x11", ANSI B: 11x17" etc.

i think just now finding out americans don’t measure paper by A4, A3, A2, etc has actually changed the trajectory of my life

@camruined bcs tax varies from one city/county to the next and stores dont want to show a different price 2 miles down the road. gas stations show tax in the $- you can see the difference there. on a street near me the difference is 40c/gallon from one to the next bcs theyre in dif. cities

Americans can you please explain WHY tax is added on at the end like why don’t y’all just display prices with the tax already included?? it just doesn’t make sense !!!

@ExileGrimm was looking at potentially having to replace my car last yr and back thrn 10 yr old corollas w/ 100,000 miles cost 20k 😬 almost as much as new. thankfully got to keep my car bcs the dealership found a 6 month wait time part in a day. i wont ask how im just grateful.

@kari_izumi @Jest_Iris yup!! and his wife was sick too so he knew it was contagious 🥴 technically we are only supposed to wfh on certain days of the week, but getting an exception made when we're sick is as easy as just asking for it.
