Footloose is having a wonderful time at the spa! Due to her missing foot, she isn’t able to groom easily, but that’s no problem! Staff is more than happy to help her groom, and she enjoys getting good scritches. She even stretches out her wing because it feels so good! ❤️

"Excuse me, ma'am. Today, I wanna do it myself." Travis decided to be extra cute during mealtime by climbing into the bowl and munching on some worms himself. He still didn't mind the extra hand-out, though! I wonder if little worms crawling through your hair feels good? 😂

Graham the Eastern red bat is pretty sure he booked a dinner reservation for one, but he still had Travis and Ben trying to crash his party. Travis and Ben are Mexican free-tails, and have little to no table manners or social etiquette. Sorry, Graham!

Say hello to Graham, who went for an accidental swim in a nearby lake. He was treading water and extremely weak, but was saved by some kind people that drove him to us! He arrived in style, comfortably nestled in a graham cracker box. He will be released once he's a bit stronger!

That's why bats can hang upside down without using any muscles or real exertion - gravity does all of the work for them! Bats also use their toe claws like tiny combs to groom their fur, keeping it soft and silky, much like a cat. :) 💚

These are the impeccable toes of Cornelius, a Jamaican fruit bat. How to bat toes even work, you ask? Well, bats have specialized tendons that allow their toe claws to lock into place when they hang. 🦇
