Urgent call to strengthen international collaborations in polar regions to adress the complex impacts of climate change ➡️bit.ly/3Yb2Tky It is becoming undeniable that only a sustained, globally coordinated response can overcome the limitations of the small-scale, short-term studies carried out by individual nations. Yet, conflicting national agendas complicate this effort, with divergent priorities and objectives threatening to fracture our collective actions and policies. Hence, "synergies from existing initiatives like SOOS (...) should be harnessed to ensure that individual activities align and contribute toward common goals." The paper by @Polar_Research members #ClareGaffey, @NKrauzig, @bax_dr and @kevin_tougeron in @PLOSClimate underlines the wake-up call raised by the #SOOSSymposium2023_Statement!
